Magnus Borgehammar joined DuPage Medical Group in 2007 and serves as the clinic manager at our Woodridge location. He is a 1994 graduate of Lund University in Sweden with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. He achieved certification in McKenzie MDT (mechanical diagnosis and therapy) in 2005 and is the clinical coordinator of spine rehabilitation at DMG.
Magnus’s training in the McKenzie method, as well as his expertise in ergonomic assessment, allows him to expertly assess the mechanical factors contributing to a patient’s back pain. By taking a “patient centered” approach, he is able to give his patients the knowledge that they need to take control of their recovery and achieve excellent results from therapy. Magnus is also experienced in the field of manual therapy, including training in Maitland, Mulligan, and Ola Grimsby techniques to alleviate pain and restore normal movement. He believes that the best results from therapy occur when the patient and their therapist work together as a team
In addition to patient care, Magnus is an advocate for the Physical Therapy profession through participation in community health education lectures and through his mentorship of students and fellow staff members.
Magnus is fluent in English, Spanish, Swedish, and German.
