Dr. Wurzelbacher believes in the practice of patient centered medicine. He always places the patient’s needs first and never loses sight of the goal for total wellness: physical, mental and spiritual health. His interests include cardiovascular disease, diabetes and continual quality improvement in the inpatient setting.
He earned his undergraduate degree in biological sciences from Ohio University, where he graduated with highest honors, summa cum laude, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, a national academic honor society. Dr. Wurzelbacher received his medical degree at the Ohio State University College of Medicine, where he received a Dean’s Scholarship three of four years. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois-Chicago and is board certified in Internal Medicine. During his training, he participated in medical experiences abroad in Ecuador and the Dominican Republic. Recently, he was part of a medical relief trip to Haiti.
Dr. Wurzelbacher is a member of the American College of Physicians. He is affiliated with Central DuPage Hospital. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, playing golf and other sports.
