As a member of our Family Practice Department, Dr. Nelson joined our group on July 15, 1987. Dr. Nelson's clinical interests center around prevention and education of patients about healthy lifestyles. He spends a great deal of time counseling patients on the benefits of a healthy diet and regular exercise. Through the use of newer agents, Dr. Nelson has been able to better control patient's high cholesterol and elevated blood pressure, thereby reducing their risks for future heart attacks and strokes.
Dr. Nelson received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at MacNeal Memorial Hospital in Berwyn, IL.
Dr. Nelson is affiliated with Central DuPage Hospital. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board for the DuPage Community Clinic, a clinic that cares for the county's uninsured. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice.
