Alyssa Hermann, P.T., joined the Physical and Occupational Therapy Department of DMG in 2008 and is the Clinic Manager of our Wheaton office. Alyssa earned a BS in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin in 1997 and went on to earn her Master of Physical Therapy degree from the Mayo School of Health Sciences in 1999. In addition to patient care, Alyssa also serves as our Occupational Health Coordinator, developing programs to treat and prevent work-related injuries.
Alyssa prides herself in her ability to communicate effectively with her patients to help them understand their injury and the purpose of each exercise. Her expertise in ergonomics and body mechanics, combined with 10 plus years working in orthopedics help her design the most effective treatment program for both the injured worker and the working mother. She continually strives to further her clinical knowledge through participation in clinical education seminars and specialty training. Alyssa has extensive experience in developing work hardening/return to work programs for injured workers, taking into consideration the patient’s job description and limitations to develop a program that will help return them to work in a safe and timely manner. Additionally, she is certified through the WorkWell System to perform Functional Capacity Evaluations.
Alyssa is a member of both the American Physical Therapy Association and the Illinois Physical Therapy Association.
