A compassionate physician, Dr. Celmer is a Board Certified Otolaryngologist who enjoys treating patients of all ages. He provides care for all diseases related to the ear, nose, face and throat, with special emphasis on voice disorders and swallowing problems. Other clinical interests include disorders of the thyroid gland, head and neck cancers, sleep apnea and treatment of sinus diseases including endoscopic sinus surgery.
Dr. Celmer received his medical degree from Indiana University before completing his residency in Otolaryngology at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City. He went on to complete a year-long fellowship in Laryngology and Professional Voice at The University of California in Los Angeles where he assisted in treating some of the most recognizable entertainers in this country and abroad. His training there involved specialized treatment of vocal and swallowing disorders as well as diagnosing and treating cancers of the throat. He also served as clinical instructor where he was involved in the education of otolaryngology residents and medical students. Dr. Celmer has published numerous journal articles and recently completed a book chapter on otolaryngology to be used in medical schools across the country. He has presented his research at many regional and national meetings.
Dr. Celmer is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is affiliated with Central DuPage, Edward and Good Samaritan Hospitals.
