Dr. Bhakta received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1991 and her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan in 1995. She went on to complete her Residency in Internal Medicine at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan and her Endocrinology and Metabolism Fellowship at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan.
Dr. Bhakta is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Endocrinology and Metabolism as well as Internal Medicine. She is a member of The Endocrine Society and the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Bhakta brings in a wealth of experience in her specialty. Her clinical interests include adult endocrinology with special emphasis on diabetes, thyroid, pituitary and adrenal disorders as well as conditions associated with bone and mineral metabolism, such as osteoporosis and parathyroid disorders.
Dr. Bhakta is affiliated with Central DuPage and Good Samaritan Hospitals.
