A graduate of the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, patient education has been a common thread throughout Edie Pignotti's varied nursing experiences in allergy, adult medicine, cardiology and Staff Development. Instructing patients with diabetes since 2000, Edie received her certification as a Diabetes Educator (CDE) in 2003 and joined DuPage Medical Group in 2007. She is experienced in teaching adult patients with type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes in both individual sessions and group classes, teaching how to manage diabetes through exercise, diet, managing medication and monitoring blood glucose. Her office is located in Naperville on Ogden.
Edie is a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators, and is the past Publications Chair for Diabetes Educators Chicago Area American Association of Diabetes Educators (DECAADE). She has been the interim Program Coordinator for the American Diabetes Association Education Recognition Program at DuPage Medical Group.
