Kashyap Katwala, M.D.
Dr. Katwala is a board certified gastroenterologist with clinical interests in colorectal cancer screening, colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, GERD (heartburn), Barrett’s esophagus, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, and hemorrhoids. His special interests are in the diseases of the gallbladder, biliary tract, and pancreas. Aside from performing general upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, his skills include performing advanced ERCP techniques, placement of palliative metal biliary and enteric stents, endoscopic hemorrhoidectomy, and resection of large colonic polyps. Prior to joining the DuPage Medical Group, Dr. Katwala practiced at Advanced Gastroenterology in Yorkville, IL and was a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation from 2004 to 2011.
Dr. Katwala received his medical degree in 1998 from State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine in Stony Brook, New York. In 2001 he completed his residency in Internal Medicine – Categorical at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL. In 2004 he completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology also from Loyola University Medical Center.
Dr. Katwala is a member of the American Medical Association, American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
