With a strong medical research background, Dr. Murphy's clinical interests include diagnosis and treatment of infectious disease and Sports Medicine. Dr. Murphy is certified in pediatric advanced life support (PALS) and neonatal advanced life support (NALS) as well as an ACLS instructor and ATLS certified. A former General Practice Navy Physician, he served as Senior Medical Officer and Division Medical Officer at Naval Hospital Great Lakes branch clinics. He was also a Battalion Surgeon in Okinawa, Japan.
Dr. Murphy received his medical degree in 1992 from Northwestern University Medical School. He completed his Residency in Pediatrics at Lutheran General Children's Hospital in Park Ridge. He has an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering.
Dr. Murphy is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Association of Military Surgeons. He is affiliated with Edward amd Central DuPage Hospitals.
