Thomas Neidenbach, PT jointed that staff of our Lombard clinic in 2008 and serves as both a mentor to new clinical staff, as well as a clinical instructor for Physical Therapy students from area universities. Prior to graduating with a Physical Therapy degree from Northern Illinois University in 1995, Thomas earned a B.S. in Physics and Math from Illinois State University. Additionally, Thomas holds a Masters in Teaching from National Louis University and has served as a contract instructor for the Physical Therapy Program and Northern Illinois University.
A spine specialist, Thomas earned his certification in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment (MDT) in 2000. The McKenzie approach utilizes a systematic examination process to accurately identify the nature of a patient’s back problem to quickly and effectively reduce pain and restore mobility. In addition to treating spine patients, Thomas is also experienced in Sports Medicine and enjoys treating athletes of all ages and abilities. As a competitive “ultra-runner”, Thomas has a unique understanding of the demands of this sport and how to best rehabilitate running injuries to get these athletes back to their sport as quickly as possible.
Thomas routinely attends clinical education seminars focusing on functional rehabilitation, biomechanics, and geriatric orthopedic rehabilitation. He has recently completed certification in Graston Technique, which is an instrument-assisted method of addressing soft-tissue restrictions and repetitive stress injuries, including but not limited to the treatment of Plantar Fascitis, Lateral Epicondylitis (“tennis elbow”), Achilles Tendonitis, and ITB syndrome.
