A member of our Internal Medicine Department, Dr. Virant brings to her practice both a caring, patient-centered philosophy as well as a medical research background. Her clinical interests include women's health, heart disease, and diabetes. Dr. Virant has published in national medical journals and has presented her research to critical care physicians and medical students in conference and university settings.
Dr. Virant received her B.A. in Asian Studies at Duke University in 1991. In 1998, she earned her medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, where she was honored with the Dean's Teaching and Research Fellowships. She completed her internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu in 1999 and her residency in Internal Medicine at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center and Cook County Hospital in 2002.
Dr. Virant is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association. She is affiliated with Good Samaritan and Hinsdale Hospital.
