DuPage Medical Group welcomes Dr. William Mourad to the Gastroenterology Department. Dr. Mourad’s clinical interests include colon cancer screening, heartburn, gallbladder and liver diseases peptic ulcer disease, complications of bariatric surgery, inflammatory bowel disease as well as various gastrointestinal disorders. Dr. Mourad is also certified to perform general therapeutic upper and lower endoscopies. He is certified to perform diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP, BRAVO capsule interpretation and placement and small bowel capsule endoscopy. Due to his extensive training, Dr. Mourad is certified in EUS and has vast exposure to other advanced endoscopic techniques such as enteral stenting and some of the endoscopic therapies for GERD.
After completing his undergraduate education at Duke University where he graduated Cum Laude as a biomedical engineer, Dr. Mourad received his medical degree in 2000 from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. He went on to complete his residency in Internal Medicine at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland. He completed his Gastroenterology and Nutrition Fellowship at Geisinger Health System, in Pennsylvania, where he also completed an advanced endoscopy fellowship. He served as Chief Fellow during his fellowships.
Dr. Mourad is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American College of Gastroenterology. He is affiliated with Central DuPage, Good Samaritan, Edward Hospitals, and The Center for Surgery.
