Frances Keating, P.T is one of the original members of DMG’s team of therapists, having worked at the original Glen Ellyn Clinic from 1988 to 1998 and returning in 2006. A native of the Philippines, Frances earned her degree at the University of Santo Tomas in 1976. She went on to achieve her Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) certification in 1999. Frances achieved certification as an ASTYM (Augmented Soft Tissue Mobilization) provider in 2008 and utilizes this technique in the treatment of many soft tissue disorders such as Plantar Fasciitis, Tennis Elbow, and Runner’s Knee.
Frances has developed her manual therapy skills through years of clinical experience as well as extensive specialty training including McKenzie (Diagnosis and Treatment of mechanical back pain), Mulligan (manual mobilization techniques), Rocabado (Cranio-facial/TMJ dysfunction), and Kaltenborn and Maitland manual therapy techniques. She uses her wealth of knowledge in differential diagnosis to specifically identify the cause of an injury or dysfunction in order to develop a customized treatment program for each patient.
In addition to her extensive orthopedic background, Frances is also a member of our Men’s and Woman’s Health Pelvic Floor Team. She has completed specialized course work including The Therapists Guide to Treating Incontinence in the Female Patient, Pelvic Physical Therapy 1 and Pelvic Physical Therapy 2. She has practical knowledge and skills in the treatment of male and female urinary incontinence and pelvic pain. Frances follows evidence- based treatment approaches which allow her advanced intervention planning and clinical decision making in the treatment of incontinence and pelvic pain. She is currently pursuing her Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic Physical Therapy (CAPP).
